Everybody knows that the Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival has an amazing vehicle display.
Everybody knows that the Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival has awesome live music.
…but did you know that this year’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival also features some classic silver screen action?
You are invited to check out some Rock’n Roll’n Movies across the weekend, so you can take a moment to sit back and relax, rest your dancin’ feet and enjoy a film.
Things are kicking off on Friday September 18th with a live performance from festival favourites The Silverados followed by a screening of the 1978 musical classic Grease, starring a very young John Travolta and Aussie sweetheart Olivia Newton John. The band will start at 6pm, with a short intermission before the film starts rolling at 7.30pm.
On Saturday night we rewind the clock to 1973’s American Graffiti, George Lucas’s coming-of-age film set over one summer night in 1962.
The story follows a group of teenagers cruising the streets of a small California town as they hang out, chase romance, and face the looming question of what comes next after high school. With a soundtrack full of early rock ’n’ roll and a strong ensemble cast including Ron Howard and Richard Dreyfuss, the film captures the spirit of car culture and youth at the dawn of the 1960s.
Funny, nostalgic, and packed with classic tunes, American Graffiti has become one of the defining youth films of its era.
Tickets for Friday night are $20, and Saturday tickets are just $12 per person. Book online below, at the cinema, or on the day.
