Film Screening – Wednesday 22nd October – 6.30pm
Come and see Modern-Day Castaway, Michael Atkinson’s film about his solo survival journey up the Great Barrier Reef in a homemade dugout canoe (watch trailer).
The film is 1 hour 25 minutes long, followed by a 25 minute talk/Q&A with Mike about what happened behind-the-scenes and the challenges of filming and starving at the same time.
Mike’s canoe, the ‘Salty Kangaroo’ will be on display.
The film is rated of ‘M’ for course Language (all swearing justified in Mike’s opinion 
). If you have kids aged 10 and up that can handle some swearing it’s a good chance for them to get a dose of real adventure.
